ENVIRONMENTAL: Our client, the Atlanta office of an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking an associate with 3+ years of experience to join their Environmental Regulatory practice group. Candidates should have a background in environmental law, with level-appropriate experience in key environmental statutes and regulations, including TSCA, FIFRA, CAA, CWA, CERCLA, RCRA, and analogous state laws and common law. Concentrated experience in environmental litigation, defense of enforcement actions, and regulatory compliance is required. Familiarity with working with the EPA, NOAA, Fish and Wildlife, the DOI, and state agencies is preferred. The candidate should have experience advising clients on business decisions related to emerging environmental issues, regulatory requirements, liability exposure, and public relations matters. Additionally, experience negotiating agreements on compliance, cost recovery, NRDA, and redevelopment matters is essential. Familiarity with reviewing the technical aspects of environmental operations, sediment-based contamination, and remediation, along with experience working with environmental consultants, is a plus. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with environmental issues affecting heavy metal industries, defense industries, chemical manufacturing, and/or maritime industries.
REQUIRED: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with a strong academic record; GA Bar admission; and excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
