IN-HOUSE LITIGATION COUNSEL in Raleigh, NC: Our client, an S&P 500 company specializing in building materials and headquartered in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a junior Litigation In-House Counsel with at least 2 - 5 years experience. The in-house team reports directly to the General Counsel. The litigation work is very hands-on, working alongside and/or supervising outside counsel. The role involves developing and executing risk-management and trial strategy with outside counsel, managing smaller cases independently, and working with Sr. Litigation Counsel on larger matters. Examples of matters include litigating and defending wrongful death or catastrophic injury claims; contractual and land use disputes; managing zoning issues; managing road construction compliance, and more. Actual trial work is involved.
REQUIRED: JD from a top ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials; 2-5 years of complex commercial or tort defense litigation experience at a major law firm with trial, deposition, and motions experience. Environmental, zoning and land use experience is a plus. Must be a self-starter who wants to be thrown in the fire right away. The role is in-person in Raleigh, NC. Applicants may be bar-licensed in any state, but should be willing to apply for or waive into the NC bar.
