Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking an Associate to join its Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice Group in Atlanta. The Associate will represent a variety of parties in sophisticated bankruptcy, restructuring, workout, and insolvency matters while also assisting firm clients with general commercial, litigation, and outside counsel matters. This position offers an opportunity to gain significant hands-on experience and responsibility in a thriving restructuring and bankruptcy practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represent a variety of clients in bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring, and workout matters; assist with sophisticated bankruptcy proceedings and related commercial matters
• Advise clients on workouts and other insolvency-related matters; provide general outside counsel support to firm clients on commercial, litigation, and related matters outside of insolvency work
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, memoranda, agreements, and other bankruptcy-related documents
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and clients while assuming meaningful responsibility for sophisticated matters

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1–4 years exp. with substantive bankruptcy and workout matters; practicing attorneys must have meaningful bankruptcy experience to be considered; 3rd-year law students with demonstrated bankruptcy coursework and writing experience and bankruptcy law clerks will also be considered

• • PREFERRED: Experience with transactional and commercial matters and/or litigation matters is a plus
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, research, and organizational skills

• JD from a nationally recognized and accredited law school with excellent academic credentials

• Must be bar licensed or prepared to become licensed in the jurisdiction of the hiring office
