Our client, a national litigation law firm, is seeking a Mid to Sr.-Level General Liability Litigation Associate with 3+ years of experience to join its Atlanta office. The Associate will handle a substantial caseload involving general liability insurance defense matters (focused on transportation liability, premises liability, and negligent security claims). This opportunity offers exposure to complex litigation matters nationwide while working alongside an experienced and collaborative team of attorneys.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage a substantial litigation caseload under partner supervision; draft and prepare pleadings, motions, proposed orders, legal memoranda, and dispositive otions; conduct substantive legal research and develop case strategies
• Draft and respond to written discovery; prepare for and take depositions of parties and expert witnesses; review client documents, prepare case evaluations, status reports, and client correspondence
• Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances; coordinate multiple active matters, maintain case deadlines, and support litigation proceedings in state and federal courts
• Office reporting: 3 days/wk. in-office, 2 days hybrid

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years complex litigation exp. in any field, with a strong preference for general liability defense experience
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills; knowledge of state and federal court procedures
• Excellent ability to prioritize competing deadlines, organizational skills, and attention to detail; demonstrated ability to manage multiple case files efficiently in a busy litigation practice
• PREFERRED: Prior courtroom and trial experience
• JD from an ABA accredited law school
• Active Georgia Bar membership required; admission to practice in additional states (particularly California) is a plus
