Description
Our client, an AMLaw 100 national law firm, is seeking a mid-to-senior level Real Estate Finance Associate to join its national practice. The Associate will work on sophisticated commercial real estate finance transactions, including loan originations, mezzanine loans, preferred equity investments, asset management, workouts, secondary market repurchase facilities, and other exit strategies.Â
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent lenders in sophisticated structured commercial real estate finance transactions from inception through closing and post-closing; handle loan origination matters involving mezzanine loans, preferred equity, and other complex financing structures
- Draft and negotiate primary loan documents and other documentation required for commercial real estate finance transactions
- Manage transactions on behalf of lenders, including transaction execution, closing, and post-closing matters
- Advise on asset management and workout matters, including distressed or challenged real estate finance transactions; handle secondary market repurchase facility transactions and other exit strategies
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients while helping to grow and support the firm’s national Real Estate Finance practice
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years exp. handling a broad range of sophisticated commercial real estate finance mattersÂ
- Experience with loan origination for large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity; asset management and workouts; demonstrated ability to draft primary loan documents and independently run lender-side transactions from inception through closing and post-closing; experience with secondary market repurchase facilities and other exit strategies
- Superb research, writing, communication, analytical, and organizational skills; ability to navigate complex subject matter quickly and effectively and work successfully within a collaborative, national team
- JD from an accredited law school with a high level of academic achievement
- Strongly preferred: Judicial clerkship or experience at a solid law firm
- Must be bar licensed or prepared to become licensed in the jurisdiction of the hiring office
