REAL ESTATE | COMMERCIAL LEASING | SENIOR ATTORNEY - OFF TRACK (8+ YRS): Our client, an AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a senior-level attorney to join its Real Estate Group in an off-track role, with a primary focus on commercial leasing. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement. The role provides the opportunity to serve as a lead leasing attorney within a sophisticated national real estate platform while supervising junior attorneys and working directly with clients.
The Senior Leasing Attorney will act as lead counsel on drafting and negotiating commercial leases for office, industrial, retail, and other property types. Responsibilities include negotiating and preparing related agreements such as transfer and assignment consents, lender subordination agreements, letters of intent, work letters, and SNDAs; supervising and mentoring less experienced leasing attorneys; and interacting directly with clients, opposing counsel, property managers, brokers, and other stakeholders. Solar leasing experience is valued but not required. The ideal candidate will bring strong market knowledge, excellent judgment, and the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while delivering practical, business-oriented advice.
REQUIRED: Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school; minimum of 8 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related agreements, including term sheets, letters of intent, work letters, and SNDAs; substantial experience representing landlords; demonstrated understanding of commercial leasing market standards across multiple property types, including office, retail, industrial, and life sciences; strong negotiating, analytical, and writing skills; excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail; sound business judgment; ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and colleagues; and active bar admission and good standing in the jurisdiction of the candidate’s resident office.
