Description

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY | MID-LEVEL ASSOCIATE (2+ YRS): Our client, an AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a mid-level associate with at least 2  years of substantial experience in data privacy and cybersecurity to join its global Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Digital Assets Practice.

This role involves advising clients across industries including technology, healthcare, financial services, advertising, and consumer products on data privacy, cybersecurity, and information governance issues. The associate will assist clients with regulatory compliance, cross-border data transfers, AI and IT governance, incident response, and defense of regulatory actions. Additional responsibilities include conducting compliance assessments, drafting privacy policies and incident response plans, reviewing and negotiating vendor and data processing agreements, advising on M&A due diligence, and supporting clients in the development of data protection programs.

The position provides significant client interaction and collaboration with partners across the firm’s global offices, offering an opportunity to develop a broad, sophisticated practice in emerging areas such as AI regulation and digital asset governance.

REQUIRED: Candidates must hold a JD from an accredited law school and be admitted to a U.S. state bar in good standing, with admission in the primary office state expected if not currently admitted. At least 2–4 years of applied experience with data and digital issues (and 4–6 years of total post-JD experience) is required. Applicants should have demonstrated familiarity with major U.S. privacy and cybersecurity laws (including FTC and State AG guidance, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, GLBA, COPPA, FCRA, FERPA, BIPA, and emerging state privacy and AI regulations). Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPM) credentials are strongly preferred. Candidates must possess excellent research, writing, and organizational skills, strong judgment, and the ability to manage projects independently in a collaborative environment.

TO APPLY: Please submit a cover letter, resume, and copies of law school and LL.M. transcripts in PDF format.
