SANCTIONS + TRADE CONTROLS | JUNIOR TO MID-LEVEL ASSOCIATE (2-5 YRS): Our client, an AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking an Associate to join its Sanctions + Trade Controls practice.
This opportunity is ideal for an associate interested in international trade, national security, and regulatory compliance. The role offers the opportunity to advise clients on complex sanctions, export controls, and cross border transactional matters while working closely with attorneys across the firm's national practice.
The Associate will support clients on transactional matters and regulatory compliance issues involving sanctions and trade controls. Responsibilities include conducting regulatory analysis and due diligence, advising on CFIUS, U.S. export controls, and economic sanctions, managing documentation and regulatory workstreams across transactions, monitoring evolving regulatory risks, and providing practical guidance on compliance with U.S. trade and national security laws.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have 2 to 5 years of experience supporting transactional matters and regulatory compliance work. Experience with CFIUS, export controls, sanctions, regulatory due diligence, transaction management, and regulatory analysis is required. Government experience is beneficial but not required. Applicants should possess superior academic credentials, outstanding writing and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and be licensed and in good standing in the state where they reside and practice.
