IP- PATENT PROSECUTION & LITIGATION | JUNIOR TO MID-LEVEL ASSOCIATE OR PATENT AGENT (2–6 YRS): Our client, an AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an Associate or Patent Agent to join its Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group within the Electrical Engineering & Software team. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated intellectual property matters involving wireless communications technologies, including 5G, 6G, and 3GPP standards, within a collaborative, nationally recognized practice platform across multiple office locations.
The successful candidate will support patent prosecution and related IP matters, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO, advising clients on intellectual property strategy, and assisting with complex technology-focused matters involving software and electrical engineering innovations. Responsibilities include preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting technical and legal analysis, collaborating with clients and legal teams on advanced telecommunications technologies, and contributing to high-level intellectual property strategy. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and the ability to manage matters efficiently within a team-oriented environment.
REQUIRED: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school (for Associate candidates); USPTO registration; 2–6 years of patent prosecution experience; background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field; strong drafting and analytical skills; excellent academic credentials; and active bar admission or ability to obtain admission in the applicable jurisdiction for Associate candidates. Design engineering experience with a chip company and wireless communications experience involving 5G, 6G, or 3GPP standards are preferred.
