BANKING - FINANCIAL REGULATORY & COMPLIANCE | SENIOR ASSOCIATE (6+ YRS): Our client, a Global firm, is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice.Â
This opportunity is ideal for a regulatory attorney with significant financial services experience looking to advise clients on sophisticated regulatory compliance matters involving consumer finance, mortgage lending and servicing, FinTech products, and emerging financial services models. The role offers the opportunity to work with domestic and international clients across a wide range of industries while collaborating with a nationally recognized financial regulatory practice.
The Senior Associate will advise clients on a broad range of financial regulatory and compliance matters, including mortgage lending and servicing, consumer finance, commercial finance, alternative lending products such as buy now, pay later (BNPL) and earned wage access (EWA) products, FinTech products and structures, state licensing, product development, compliance programs, bank partnership models, money services businesses, payment systems, and other complex financial services matters. Responsibilities also include counseling clients on compliance with federal and state financial services laws and regulations, managing multiple matters simultaneously, collaborating with cross-functional teams on regulatory issues, providing strategic legal advice on financial services initiatives, and assisting clients with regulatory examinations and enforcement matters.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years of law firm experience focused primarily on financial services regulatory and compliance matters. Applicants should have substantial experience advising on mortgage lending and servicing, consumer finance, commercial finance, FinTech products, state licensing, product development, compliance, and bank partnership models, as well as knowledge of key financial services laws and regulations, including TILA, RESPA, UDAAP/UDAP, HMDA, FCRA, and FDCPA. Enforcement experience and experience with money services businesses and payment systems are preferred. Strong drafting, communication, collaboration, and client counseling skills are required. Candidates must be admitted to or eligible for admission in the relevant jurisdiction. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
