Our client, a leading intellectual property law firm, is seeking a mid-level Patent Litigation Associate to join its Mechanical Practice Group in any U.S. office. The Associate will handle sophisticated patent litigation matters involving case strategy, fact and expert discovery, depositions, substantive motions, validity and invalidity contentions, witness preparation, and trial support. Candidates must have experience in the mechanical arts, together with knowledge of computer technology, coding, and signal processing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute patent litigation case strategy; manage fact and expert discovery; take and defend depositions; draft and argue substantive motions
• Prepare witnesses and validity and invalidity contentions; support trial teams through the preparation and trial phases of complex patent litigation matters

REQUIREMENTS:

• 4–6 years exp. handling substantial patent litigation matters, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, substantive motion practice, witness preparation, validity and invalidity contentions, and trial support
• Experience in the mechanical arts combined with knowledge of computer technology, coding, and signal processing is required
• Strong analytical abilities, sound judgment, and outstanding written and oral advocacy skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required
• JD from a nationally recognized and accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
• Must be bar licensed or prepared to become licensed in the jurisdiction of the hiring office
