LITIGATION - GENERAL LIABILITY, COMPLEX LIABILITY, CATASTROPHIC LOSS | SENIOR OF COUNSEL (10+ YRS): Our client, a national firm, is seeking a senior Of Counsel Attorney with significant litigation experience to join its General Liability and Insurance Defense Practice.
This opportunity is ideal for a senior litigator with ten or more years of experience handling general liability and insurance defense matters who is seeking a role with significant autonomy, client interaction, and responsibility. The position offers the opportunity to manage complex litigation matters from inception through trial preparation while collaborating with experienced attorneys and serving as a strategic advisor to clients.
The Of Counsel Attorney will represent clients in general liability and insurance defense matters, including premises liability, construction accidents, and other complex liability disputes. Responsibilities include independently managing cases through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, and trial preparation; developing defense strategies with partners, clients, and experts; conducting legal research; drafting substantive briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate materials; managing expert witnesses; supervising associates and support staff; and representing clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions. The successful candidate will take ownership of assigned matters while contributing to broader team strategy and delivering high-quality legal services.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have ten or more years of experience handling general liability and insurance defense litigation. Applicants should possess strong experience managing cases independently, participating in negotiations and mediations, and preparing matters for trial. Exceptional analytical, research, writing, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Georgia Bar are required; admission in additional jurisdictions is a plus.
