Description
Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking a Senior Counsel with 7+ years of experience to join its Community Development Finance Practice Group. The attorney will represent lenders, investors, and syndicators in sophisticated real estate financings utilizing low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, new markets, energy, and other state and federal tax credit programs. Matters span a variety of real estate projects, including multifamily residential, office, hotel, and industrial developments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent lenders, investors, and syndicators in sophisticated community development and tax credit real estate financings; handle real estate lending and joint venture financing involving low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, new markets, energy, and other state and federal tax credit programs
- Draft and negotiate senior real estate secured loan documents and real estate joint venture partnership/operating agreements; review title commitments, recorded documents, and surveys; oversee paralegal title and survey review for multifamily residential, office, hotel, industrial, and other real estate projects
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years exp. with solid and recent real estate transactional experience, including real estate lending and/or joint venture financing; tax credit transaction experience is strongly preferred
- Experience drafting senior real estate secured loan documents and/or real estate joint venture partnership/operating agreements; requisite experience reviewing title commitments, recorded documents, and surveys
- Strong legal writing, drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- JD from a nationally recognized and accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
- Must be bar licensed or prepared to become licensed in the jurisdiction of the hiring office
