PATENT PROSECUTION & LITIGATION (ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING & SOFTWARE) | JUNIOR TO MID-LEVEL ASSOCIATE (2-5 YRS): Our client, an AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an Associate to join its Intellectual Property practice. This opportunity offers the ability to work with innovative clients across the energy, technology, software, artificial intelligence, and manufacturing sectors while developing a sophisticated patent prosecution practice with exposure to patent litigation and broader intellectual property matters.
The Associate will prepare and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, including drafting patent applications, responding to Office Actions, conducting patentability analyses, and assisting clients with intellectual property portfolio development. The role also provides opportunities to support patent litigation matters and advise clients on strategic intellectual property protection across a variety of technologies. Candidates will work closely with inventors, engineers, scientists, and in-house legal teams while developing deep technical and legal expertise in emerging technologies.
The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications involving electrical engineering, software, artificial intelligence, energy technologies, manufacturing systems, or related technical disciplines. This position offers exposure to a national and international client platform and the opportunity to work within one of the firm's growing technology and energy-focused practices.

REQUIRED: J.D. from an accredited law school; 2–5 years of patent prosecution experience, including patent application drafting; degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field; registration before the United States Patent and Trademark Office; excellent written and oral communication skills; strong analytical and organizational abilities; and admission to the Texas Bar or ability to become licensed in Texas. Experience involving energy, software, artificial intelligence, manufacturing, or related technologies is preferred.
