LABOR & EMPLOYMENT | REMOTE HOURLY COUNSEL (5+ YRS): Our client,  an AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Remote Hourly Counsel to join its national Innovative Staffing Team (IST). This is a fully remote position. 

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced management side employment attorney seeking the flexibility of an hourly, fully remote practice while working on sophisticated labor and employment matters. The Innovative Staffing Team is composed of highly experienced attorneys, including former partners, senior associates, and in-house counsel, who work on complex employment matters without the expectations of a traditional partner track role. Attorneys enjoy flexible schedules with no business development or marketing obligations while remaining integrated into the firms’ nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice.

The Hourly Counsel will handle a broad range of employment litigation matters, including drafting responsive pleadings, managing all phases of discovery, preparing dispositive motions, handling EEOC charges and agency investigations, preparing position statements, representing clients in mediations, conciliations, fact finding conferences, and onsite investigations, negotiating settlements, and representing employers before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Department of Labor.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have at least 5 years of management side employment litigation experience with significant experience in federal and state court litigation and administrative agency proceedings. Applicants should have experience handling discovery, drafting pleadings and summary judgment motions, managing EEOC charges and investigations, and representing employers in mediations and settlement negotiations. Candidates must possess strong time management skills, enjoy working collaboratively, be able to commit to approximately 1,000 or more hours annually depending on workload, and maintain an active bar license in the state where they reside and in a state where Seyfarth has an office.
