Description
DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE (5+ YRS): Our client, a national mid-size litigation firm, is seeking a strategic and operationally focused revenue cycle leader to oversee the firm's entire revenue cycle function. This newly expanded leadership role will be responsible for managing all aspects of the revenue cycle, from client intake through billing, collections, cash application, and revenue realization. The position offers the opportunity to modernize processes, lead established teams, and drive operational efficiencies across a nationally recognized law firm.
The Director of Revenue Cycle will oversee multiple functional areas within the revenue cycle department, including billing, appeals, collections, cash application, and client intake. The successful candidate will lead a team with existing managers and team leads already in place while focusing on process improvement, technology utilization, reporting, workflow optimization, and overall departmental strategy.
A critical component of this role is managing the complexities associated with insurance defense billing. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience handling high-volume split-billing arrangements, including matters involving multiple payers on a single invoice. Experience managing invoices with three to four payers on average, and occasionally five to six payers, is highly desirable.
This individual will be expected to evaluate and improve long-standing departmental processes, implement operational enhancements, leverage technology to improve efficiency, and establish best practices that support the firm's continued growth. While the firm is not seeking someone focused solely on cutting-edge technology, they are looking for a leader who can bring a modern and forward-thinking approach to revenue cycle management.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, effective people leader, and strategic business partner who can successfully collaborate with attorneys, firm leadership, clients, and operational teams. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational oversight.
REQUIRED: 5+ years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience; demonstrated experience overseeing billing, collections, cash application, and accounts receivable functions; significant insurance defense billing experience; expertise with complex split-billing arrangements; strong leadership and process improvement capabilities; experience managing teams and department operations; and excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Law firm experience; experience leading large-scale revenue cycle transformations; technology implementation or process modernization experience; and prior responsibility for revenue cycle strategy and departmental performance metrics is preferred.
