Our client, a leading intellectual property law firm, is seeking an attorney to join its Chemical Practice Group in Atlanta and support sophisticated patent prosecution, due diligence, freedom-to-operate (FTO), and counseling matters. The attorney will work with large clients managing significant global patent portfolios and will help supervise technical specialists while supporting client meetings and ongoing portfolio strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Handle patent prosecution, due diligence, FTO, and counseling matters; provide day-to-day supervision of technical      specialists; support client meetings and collaborate on ongoing patent strategy
•  Work with large clients and significant global patent portfolios; analyze technical and intellectual property issues                  involving organic chemistry and small-molecule technologies

REQUIREMENTS:

•  2-4 years exp. supporting patent prosecution, due diligence, FTO, and counseling matters; prior experience as a              patent agent or technical specialist may supplement years of attorney experience
•  REQUIRED: Strong science background in organic chemistry / small molecules; STRONGLY PREFERRED: advanced      degree in a relevant scientific discipline
•  Experience supervising technical specialists, handling large clients with global patent portfolios, and supporting      client meetings
•  JD from a nationally recognized and accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
•  Must be licensed to practice before the USPTO; must be bar licensed or prepared to become licensed in the jurisdiction of      the hiring office
