TECHNOLOGY PROCUREMENT & CONTRACTING | MID TO SENIOR LEVEL ATTORNEY (3+ YRS): Our client, an AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking a Technology Attorney. This role offers the opportunity to work at a leading global law firm overseeing technology procurement, vendor contracts, and risk management initiatives while collaborating closely with the firm’s General Counsel, Chief Information Officer, and Technology & Innovation Committee.
The Technology Attorney will oversee legal review, negotiation, and management of the firm’s technology-related contracts, including software, cloud services, consulting agreements, and managed service arrangements. Responsibilities include developing and managing technology procurement processes and governance frameworks, leading negotiations with vendors and internal stakeholders, and maintaining a contract lifecycle management system for technology agreements. The role also involves establishing standardized contracting playbooks and supplier guidelines, managing contract inventories and renewal schedules, and collaborating with departments including IT, security, procurement, finance, marketing, and HR to ensure consistent standards across technology procurement activities. Additionally, the attorney will assist in evaluating emerging technologies—including generative artificial intelligence tools—and contribute to enterprise technology strategy and governance initiatives through the firm’s Technology & Innovation Committee.
REQUIRED: Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school; active bar admission in good standing; at least 3 years of experience reviewing and negotiating technology or commercial contracts at a law firm, professional services firm, or in-house legal or procurement team; familiarity with data privacy and security considerations including GDPR; strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills; and demonstrated interest in enterprise technology and technology governance.
