EMPLOYEE BENEFITS (HEALTH & WELFARE)| COUNSEL (8+ YRS): Our client, an AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an experienced Counsel to join its Employee Benefits & Tax team. This position offers the opportunity to work within a nationally recognized practice advising clients on complex health and welfare benefit matters in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
The Counsel will advise clients on a broad range of issues affecting health and welfare plans, including compliance with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act, and other applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing and negotiating third-party administrator and vendor agreements, counseling on HIPAA privacy and data protection matters, and providing strategic guidance on plan design, implementation, and ongoing compliance. The role also involves working closely with corporate clients and internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment and mitigate risk across employee benefits programs.

REQUIRED: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; 8+ years of experience in employee benefits law, with a focus on health and welfare plans; strong knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act; experience reviewing vendor agreements and advising on compliance matters; excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills; and active bar admission in a jurisdiction where the firm maintains an office. An LL.M. in Employee Benefits is preferred.
