CONSUMER FINANCE LITIGATION | STAFF ATTORNEY (5+ YRS): Our client, an AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a Staff Attorney to support its nationwide consumer finance litigation defense team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a large, established litigation group defending financial institutions and lenders in complex consumer financial services matters across state and federal courts and arbitration forums.
The Staff Attorney will defend clients in the credit card, mortgage, auto finance, and broader lending sectors against consumer financial services litigation. Responsibilities include drafting dispositive motions and pleadings, managing litigation strategy, negotiating with opposing counsel and pro se litigants, and defending claims arising under statutes such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and related state consumer protection laws, as well as common law claims. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and drafting skills, demonstrate close attention to detail, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced litigation environment supporting a national practice platform.
REQUIRED: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; minimum of 5 years of litigation experience with significant exposure to consumer financial services defense matters; strong writing and drafting skills; excellent academic credentials; and active bar admission in the jurisdiction of residence or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
