SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES |PATENT AGENT (3+ YRS): Our client, an AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a USPTO-registered Patent Agent to join its Electronics & Software Team. This opportunity offers the ability to work with innovative technology companies on sophisticated patent prosecution matters involving cutting-edge software and emerging technologies.

The Patent Agent will prepare, draft, and prosecute software-related patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Responsibilities include working closely with inventors and clients to develop patent strategies, managing patent portfolios, conducting invention disclosure reviews, drafting responses to Office Actions, and advising clients on intellectual property protection strategies. The role also provides opportunities to support portfolio development initiatives and client counseling efforts.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with advanced software technologies, including cloud computing, cybersecurity and encryption technologies, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, mobile applications, databases, networking technologies, and related innovations.

REQUIRED: USPTO registration and active Patent Agent status; 3+ years of patent prosecution experience; degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field; experience drafting and prosecuting software-related patent applications; strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; and the ability to manage multiple client matters effectively. Experience with portfolio development and client counseling is preferred.
