Description
Our client, a nationally recognized law firm, is seeking an experienced Tax Controversy Associate (Litigation) to join its Atlanta office. The Associate will handle a diverse range of sophisticated federal tax controversy matters involving IRS audits, administrative appeals, and litigation, representing individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, and trusts across varying tax issues and subject matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Represent clients in sophisticated IRS Tax audits, administrative appeals, and Tax Litigation; advise individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, and trusts across a diverse range of federal tax controversy matters and subject areas
- Analyze complex and evolving tax issues; communicate effectively with clients, taxing authorities, and legal teams; manage matters independently and efficiently while collaborating extensively with attorneys, paralegals, and professional staff
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years exp. handling IRS audits, appeals, and/or tax litigation, preferably involving multiple subject matters and different types of clients, with demonstrated ability to adapt to changing and complex issues
- STRONGLY PREFERRED: Law firm or accounting firm experience; degree in accounting, CPA license, LL.M. in Tax, Tax Court clerkship, or government experience with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel or DOJ Tax Division is strongly preferred but not required
- Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills; ability to work independently and efficiently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- JD from a nationally recognized and accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
- Georgia Bar license required
